Change Your Career

Course Description:

The "Change Your Career" workshop is designed to help professionals take decisive steps in transitioning to a new career. In this intensive program, participants will receive a combination of personalized career guidance, industry-specific insights, and mental health support. By working with growth coaches, narrative specialists, and subject matter experts (SMEs), participants will develop the clarity, confidence, and strategies to pursue a new career path.

This course is not a guarantee of immediate career transformation. We provide a training environment where participants under expert guidance build a sustainable plan for change. By the end of the course, participants will walk away with a clear action plan to network and search, industry-specific insights, and the confidence to navigate their career change journey.

Course Structure:

Since our focus is your growth, all of our courses have two distinct parts:
(A) Managing one’s self
(B) Facing the world

All courses are taught by three distinct instructors, each addressing the what, how, why, which, when, where, etc., in varying degrees:

  • Growth Coach: Focuses on the mind (your thinking)
  • Narrative Artist: Focuses on communication (what you say)
  • Subject Matter Expert: Focuses on your goals in a specific field/subject (what you want and why)

Part - A: Managing one’s self

The "Change Your Career" course is built around three key areas, with each component taught by a specialized instructor.

Growth Coach: Focuses on how to manage the emotional challenges of making a career transition.

  • Overcoming fear of change and self-doubt.
  • Building resilience to handle the uncertainty of career shifts.
  • Developing the mindset needed to embrace new opportunities and adapt to a new professional identity.

Narrative Specialist (Personal Branding and Communication): Focuses on crafting a leadership story that resonates with hiring managers.

  • How to translate past experiences into a story that resonates with the new industry.
  • Building a personal brand that reflects your new career goals.
  • Preparing for interviews and networking opportunities by communicating your transferable skills confidently.

Subject Matter Expert (Industry-Specific Guidance): Focuses on understanding the skills and expectations of your new job in your new industry. Students will select a specific field — currently we only offer these: Sales, Design, Engineering, Marketing, Product Management, and Finance — and work with one or more SMEs in that area.

  • Identifying the skills and qualifications needed for success in the new industry.
  • Developing a learning plan to fill any skill-gaps.
  • Understanding industry trends and positioning yourself effectively in the new market.

Part - B: Facing the world

The second key component of this course is learning how to build the right professional connections to secure opportunities in a new career field. To help you gain the necessary people skills, our instructors facilitate three types of relationships. Once you learn how to manage each, you will be able to retain these skills for the rest of your career:

Network Building: Participants will learn how to engage with other professionals, mentors, and industry leaders, creating a network that supports their new career goals. Our role is to help participants understand how to effectively engage with their network, but the ongoing effort to convert these connections into opportunities remains with them.

Recruiter Connections: The course will introduce participants to internal and external recruiters who specialize in placing candidates in new career fields.

People at Target Employers: Through networking events and SME connections, participants will have the chance to meet people who are already working in their desired career field. The focus is on learning how to position themselves for new opportunities, but the next steps toward securing a role will require the participant’s initiative and drive.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will:

Build emotional resilience: Learn how to overcome the mental barriers to career change, manage uncertainty, and adapt to a new professional identity.
Develop a compelling leadership narrative: Craft a story that showcases their transferable skills and experiences, presenting themselves as a strong candidate for their new industry.
Audit skill-gaps: Gain insights into the skills needed to succeed in their new field and create a plan to acquire those skills.
Create a clear job search plan: Develop a personalized roadmap for landing their first job in their new career, including application strategies and interview preparation.
Learn to build and maintain professional relationships: Gain the skills to establish connections with recruiters and industry leaders that will support their transition into the new career.

Final Project:

Each participant will complete the course with:

  •  A new personal narrative tailored for job applications (resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile) that aligns with their new career path.
  • A clear action plan for transitioning into their desired career, which includes networking strategies, self-presentation, and skill development.
  • The ability to connect with recruiters and people working in the new industry, equipping them with the skills to pursue opportunities confidently.

Note: In all our job search courses, we encourage our students to actively apply as soon as their Narrative Module is complete by the end of the 4th week. Which means, we will be there with you in your journey as you look for a job.
